Prior to joining Leonard Law Group, Matt was a partner at a large Chicago law firm (Am Law 200), where he had over 15 years’ worth of experience litigating and defending negligence and commercial claims, including personal liability, products liability, intellectual property, and premises liability. Given this experience, Matt brings a unique perspective to the firm, as he has an intimate understanding of the tactics and strategies used by defendants and their counsel. Matt specializes in wrongful death, truck and automobile collisions, and commercial litigation.
The Leading Lawyers Magazine has recognized Matt as an "Emerging Lawyer." He is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyer’s Association.
Matt grew up on the south side of Chicago, as did his parents (a retired nurse and a hospital administrator) and his grandfathers (former Chicago fireman and foreman at International Harvester). Matt attended Marist High School before moving on to the University of Notre Dame where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His education continued at Chicago-Kent School of Law, where he earned Dean's List honors. Matt serves on the Board of Directors for the Special Olympics of Chicago.
Matt is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
