What Is Vocational Rehabilitation?

Vocational Rehabilitation is a benefit afforded to injured workers when their injuries and doctor’s restrictions prevent them from returning to their pre-injury employer. Pursuant to this benefit, the injured worker may be re-trained at the expense of the insurance company so he/she can re-enter the employment force and be able to earn as much as possible, whether it be hourly pay or salaried pay.

There is no time limit on how long vocational rehabilitation can last and the injured employee will continue to receive his weekly or bi-weekly check from the insurance company as long as he/she is cooperative with the vocational counselor and the vocational plan.
