Daniel J. Biederman, Sr.
Daniel J. Biederman, Sr. is a tenacious advocate for his clients in the courtroom and at the negotiation table. Throughout his career, he has recovered over $39 million in verdicts and settlements for people injured by the negligence of others. Most notably, Dan secured a $4.5 million settlement for parents who tragically lost three children in a house fire in the Austin Neighborhood. Dan also secured an $8 million settlement for a young man who lost his mother and younger brother in a high-rise fire.
Integral to his success is Dan’s ability to tell the story of his clients in an empathetic and compelling manner. Importantly, he is adept at utilizing courtroom technology to simplify and explain difficult and complex concepts to juries and judges.
Dan has been licensed to practice law since 1986 and has trial experience in both state and federal courts throughout Illinois. He is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois, federal court for the Northern District of Illinois and the United States Supreme Court. Dan is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
Dan earned a Bachelor’s of Arts from DePaul University in 1979, a Master’s of Arts in Economics, also from DePaul, in 1981, and a Juris Doctorate from The John Marshall Law School in 1986.
A resident of Lakeview, Dan enjoys spending time outside of the office with his four children and one granddaughter, going to Cubs games, and supporting charities including the Garfield Park Little League and the ALS Association.
