John received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame and his Doctorate in law from Loyola University.
He is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Illinois Supreme Court and all other courts and administrative agencies in Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Judicial Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois and the Western District of Oklahoma.
John has practiced personal injury law for forty-four years and has tried approximately fifty cases, mostly in the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County and the collar counties of Will, DuPage, Winnebago, McHenry, Lake and McClean as well as in state courts in northern Indiana, San Antonio, Texas and Boise Idaho as well as the U.S. District Court in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
John has also handled over a dozen appeals in the First, Second and Third Districts of the Illinois Appellate Court as well as the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Judicial Circuit and the Supreme Court of Idaho.
John is a current or past member of the American, Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations, the Chicago Bar Foundation, the American and Illinois Trial Lawyer’s Association (where he served on the Board of Governors for over twenty years), the Trial Lawyer’s Club of Chicago, the Society of Trial Lawyers and the Justinian Society of Lawyers.
In 2014, John was recognized as one of the Top Lawyers in Illinois and, since 2011, he has been rated AV-Preeminent by Martendale-Hubbell. This is the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards as voted by his peers.
