Leonard Law Group has been retained to investigate a fatal multi-vehicle crash that occurred on I-55 in Romeoville.
On January 8th, 2026, around 4:30 AM, Romeoville police reported that a red Ford Fusion driving westbound on Frontage Road when it lost control of its vehicle and crashed through the I-55 sound barrier wall, coming to a stop on the northbound lanes of I-55. Two other vehicles traveling north on I-55 collided with the red Ford Fusion.
Following this fatal accident, multiple lanes of I-55 were closed for several hours as police investigated the scene. Unfortunately, the driver of the red Ford Fusion was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of one of the vehicles headed northbound on I-55 suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
According to several media reports, neighbors in the area have expressed their concerns about the safety of Frontage Road, considering that previous automobile accidents have occurred in the same area where this crash took place.
