Matthew J. Novak (Matt) is originally from Iowa and moved to Chicago in 2005 after graduating law school. Matt graduated magna cum laude from Buena Vista University, Storm Lake Iowa in 2001, and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2005. His early legal experience involved family law, contract law, business law, and minor criminal matters. He joined Leonard Law Group in 2022 where his practice is concentrated in the representation of injured workers before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, Circuit Court and Appellate Court. Prior to joining Leonard Law Group, Matt has practiced workers’ compensation law in Illinois since 2006, representing his clients in complex workers compensation cases. Matt has been named a Leading Lawyer multiple times by Leading Lawyers Magazine for workers’ compensation, and before that was featured as an Emerging Lawyer.
