Workers Compensation
Settlement
There is no provision of the Illinois workers compensation act that guarantees the injured worker a settlement following the conclusion of medical treatment. The belief the insurance company or employer will offer you a settlement may be a mistake. Often times once medical treatment has concluded the insurance company or employer will simply close the claim. Leonard Law Group handles every case with a skill and knowledge of the Act that allows for maximum compensation to our clients. If the injured worker hires Leonard Law Group subsequent to the insurance company or employer extending a written offer Leonard Law Group charges a 20 percent fee on the total settlement or 50 percent fee above the written offer, whichever is less. If Leonard Law Group cannot increase the offer there is no fee charged. The value of a claim depends on the following factors: permanent partial disability sustained, ability to return to work full duty, wage loss or earning impairment incurred, if any, and the ability to return to any type of gainful employment.
