Plaintiff was at a well known rent to buy store to look at bed sets. She sat down on one particular bed set and it collapsed under her weight dropping her to the ground. Plaintiff sustained injuries to her entire body in the fall. Matthew J. Leonard represents Plaintiff against the store.

Woman suffers servere facial burns during cosmetic surgery

Local 705 forklift operator injures neck and back

Plaintiff, a Local 705 forklift operator was filling his car up with gas when a commercial vehicle tried to drive between his parked car and the curb. In doing so the defendants truck struck and lifted up Plaintiffs car into the air. Plaintiff suffered injuries to his neck and back. Matthew J. Local 705 crane operator injured in railyard accident

Plaintiff, a Local 705 crane operator injured his wrist when a rail company employee placed a vehicle in his path that Plaintiff could not see. Plaintiff came in contact with the other vehicle while operating his crane and suffered an injury to his wrist. Laborer Injured When Air Jack Explodes In His Face

Plaintiff, a laborer, was using an air jack to lift a car in order to repair a flat. The air jack had been serviced by a 3rd party just prior to its use that day by the Plaintiff. Retired Local 705 member injures left knee in auto accident

Plaintiff, a retired Local 705 truck driver was involved in an auto accident with another vehicle that was just used in a drive-by shooting. Plaintiff was cut off by the other vehicle as police officers were in pursuit and hit another vehicle. Plaintiff injured his left knee joint and underwent a left knee arthroscopy at Rush. Matthew J. Leonard represents Plaintiff against his insurance carrier on an uninsured claim.

Pest control worker trips in side doorway of restaurant

Plaintiff, a Hispanic pest control worker entered a restaurant to perform pest control work. As he entered through a side door that he was directed to enter through, his foot caught a two inch height difference in the flooring and he fell onto the anterior part of his left knee joint. The height difference was not marked and Plaintiff was unaware it existed. It was not present the previous time he entered the side door sixty days prior. Plaintiff underwent a left knee arthroscopy and has not returned to work for his employer. Matthew J. Leonard represents Plaintiff against the restaurant.

Package car driver trips over bucket that was propping door open while making a delivery

Plaintiff, a package car driver for a non union shop was delivering to a well known hardware store. As he entered the third parties premises through a door he tripped and fell over a large bucket that was propping the door open. Plaintiff sustained a cervical spine injury requiring a two level cervical fusion. Joseph J. Local 731 garbage truck driver trips over pothole in an alley

Plaintiff, a 45 year old garbage truck driver was picking up yard waste in an alley left by residents of Berwyn Illinois. Plaintiff picked up a 30-40lb garbage can of yard waste and began to walk with it back to his truck to compact the waste. As he was walking back to his truck carrying the heavy garbage can of yard waste his left foot stepped inside a pothole and he twisted his left knee joint aggravating his osteoarthritis. Plaintiff underwent a left total knee replacement. Matthew J. Leonard serves as co-counsel for the Plaintiff against the city where this incident occurred.

Local 2 elevator repair man burned by loose cable

Plaintiff, an elevator repair man was working on a condominium project. A go-cart was being used in place of the out of order elevator. While working Plaintiff was struck and burned by a cable that had come loose. Local 18007 gas mechanic electrocuted by charged drying machine

Plaintiff was at a residence to turn on the occupants' gas service. In order to do so Plaintiff needed to move a dryer out of the way. Plaintiff put his hands on the dryer and was electrocuted by a charge. He suffered traumatically induced bilateral carpal tunnel and bilateral cubital tunnel syndrome and has undergone surgery on all four body parts. Joseph J. Local 705 truck driver fractures right hand running away from a dog, suffers other injuries

Plaintiff, a Local 705 freight driver was delivering a package on his route. He entered the building and proceeded into the designated suite for his delivery. When he opened the door, without notice, an unleashed dog ran after him.  Plaintiff turned to run away and in the process of doing so struck his right hand on an object sustaining a fracture of his third metacarpal. Plantiff also suffered traumatically induced right sided carpal tunnel syndrome and underwent surgery. Matthew J. Leonard represents Plaintiff against the building owner and suite occupant.

Bridgeview police officer sustains serious cervical spine injury in motor vehicle collision

Plaintiff, a male police officer for the city of Bridgeview was broadsided by the  defendants who could not stop their vehicle in time.  Plaintiff was on duty at the time and sustained a serious cervical injury to C5-C6 requiring a C5-C6 instrumented cervical fusion. Matthew J. Leonard represents Plaintiff against the defendants and the city of Bridgeview’s underinsured carrier.

Woman hit in head when bathroom stall door comes unhinged

Plaintiff was a patron at a bar eating with friends and got up to use the restroom. She entered the bathroom and opened a very heavy stall door. As she opened the door it came unhinged and struck Plaintiff in the face fracturing her nose. Plaintiff also suffers from headaches and blurred vision. Matthew J. Local 73 hospital worker injured when operating room cart collapses

Plaintiff, a hospital employee fractured her wrist when an operating room surgical cart collapsed when she went to push the cart off an elevator. The cart had been serviced and repaired by a third party maintenance company leading up to this accident. Matthew J. Leonard represents Plaintiff against the third party maintenance company.

Forklift driver injures cervical spine when vision disrupted by concrete debris

Plaintiff, a forklift driver was instructed by his supervisor to pick up a heavy part from another part of his employers premises and deliver it to the proper place. Plaintiffs normal route was under construction and shut down so he was forced to take an alternative route he had never used before. In the process of driving to pick up the part he drove past the contractors working area and concrete debris altered his vision and he drove into a large crack in the road. The contractor did not have the concrete debris being covered but instead allowed it to enter into the open air. Plaintiff injured his cervical spine and has underwent a C5-C6 cervical fusion with revision fusion after failure of the first procedure. Matthew J. Leonard serves as co-counsel for Plaintiff against the contractor.

Student injured in motor vehicle accident

Plaintiff, a 17 year old Polish student, was driving southbound on Interstate 294 when he was cut off by another driver. He swerved to his right and struck an illegally parked truck on the right side of the highway. The truck driver was on the telephone listening to a safety meeting with his employer. Signs were posted on the highway that trucks were not to park on the right shoulder. Plaintiff suffered severe internal injuries and is an in-patient at Loyola's intensive care unit. IDOT employee injured in motor vehicle accident

Plaintiff, an off duty Local 726 IDOT employee, was traveling north on Wolf Rd. in Palos Heights when the Defendant's vehicle crossed the center line and struck Plaintiff head on. Plaintiff suffered a fractured left wrist and disc injuries to his cervical and lumbar spine. Plaintiff is currently and undergoing epidural steroid injections and therapy after a recommendation for an L5-S1 lumbar fusion from his treating physician. Matthew J. Leonard represents Plaintiff against Defendants carrier, Allstate, and has placed State Farm, Plaintiff's carrier, on notice of an under-insured claim as Plaintiff's policy is $300,000 and Defendant's $250,000.

Transporter injured in rail yard accident

Plaintiff, a female rail yard transporter was dispatched into the rail yard to pick up and transport a worker. While Plaintiff was parked and waiting for the worker another transporter driven by a different employer collided violently with Plaintiff's truck. Plaintiff sustained traumatic lumbar spine and right shoulder injuries. Plaintiff underwent a right shoulder rotator cuff repair in January 2011 and also treated for soft tissue cervical spine injuries. She has not worked since the accident date. Matthew J. Woman suffers chemical burns at salon

Plaintiff was at a salon getting her hair colored. The stylist administered a chemical product that leaked into Plaintiff's ear causing her to burn from the inside out. Plaintiff has been hospitalized multiple times since the incident. Andrew P. Leonard represents Plaintiff against the hair salon and the hair dresser.

Laborer injures right shoulder when side swiped by cab driver

Plaintiff, a laborer, was driving in Chicago down a four lane street in the lane to the far right. A cab in the lane to the left of him cut him off. Plaintiffs work vehicle collided with the middle of the cab and Plaintiff sustained right shoulder injuries that required arthroscopic surgery. Plaintiff was released from the surgeon with permanent lifting restrictions. Andrew P. Leonard represents Plaintiff against the cab driver and cab company.

Union beverage driver falls down slippery and poorly lit staircase

Plaintiff, a Local 744 beverage driver, was delivering product to a bar. As he was bringing the product down a flight of stairs via a dolly he slipped and fell. The stairs were poorly lit and wet from prior deliveries made during the day. Plaintiff sustained right elbow injuries that required surgery. A recommendation for a second procedure was offered but refused by Plaintiff. He was released by his surgeon with permanent restrictions. Andrew P. Union package car driver falls over wood left outside store

Plaintiff, a Local 705 package car driver, was in the course of a delivery when he tripped over a piece of wood that was left in front of the door to the business. Plaintiff had undergone a prior right elbow surgery 20 years prior and suffered a permanent aggravation of his right elbow condition as a result of his fall. His treating physician released him with permanent restrictions after a course of conservative treatment. Andrew P. Leonard represents Plaintiff against the business owner.

Union truck driver injured when another truck jackknifes on highway

Plaintiff, a Local 786 cement truck driver, was on the highway when a vehicle in front of him jackknifed. Plaintiff applied his brakes but could not avoid contact with the vehicle. He sustained right shoulder injuries that required arthroscopic repair. Hs is currently treating for these injuries. Andrew P. Leonard represents Plaintiff against the negligent driver and his employer as he was in a company vehicle.

Woman injured when epidural shot wrongly administered

Plaintiff, a middle aged woman with chronic pain, was in her doctors office for an epidural shot. The doctor punctured her lung and Plaintiff suffered an empyema that required excision and left a severe scar around her mid-section. Plaintiff has been hospitalized almost a dozen times since the incident occurred. Andrew P. Leonard represents Plaintiff against the doctor, the hospital network and doctor group.

Laborer injured when improperly loaded truck tips over

Plaintiff, a laborer, was hauling materials at a construction site for his employer. As he proceeded to drive his truck he lost control because the materials inside were improperly loaded causing the truck to tip over. Joseph J. Driver rear ended at stop light by distracted driver

Plaintiff, a Local 705 truck driver was stopped at a red light when a distracted out of state driver rear ended him at a high rate of speed. Plaintiff underwent a shoulder arthroscopy and was also treated for three cervical herniated discs. Joseph J. Leonard represents Plaintiff against the negligent drivers insurance carrier.

Union beverage driver falls down stairs while delivering product to bar

Plaintiff, a Local 744 beverage driver, delivered his product to bars and restaurants in downtown Chicago. Plaintiff was wheeling his product into a well known bar on Rush Street and was told by the bar staff to use a specific set of stairs to get the product down the stairs. The staff did not mention there was a working elevator on the premises or even a safer set of stairs. While wheeling the product down the stairs Plaintiff lost control of the dolly and fell down the flight of stairs sustaining a lumbar spine injury. Petitioner underwent an instrumented one level lumbar fusion and was released with permanent lifting restrictions. Pre-trial discovery revealed the stairs were dimly lit and edges were broken and worn down. Joseph J. Leonard represents Plaintiff against the bar.

Union carpenter injured by falling work tools at worksite

Plaintiff, a Local 13 carpenter, was working inside an elevator shaft. Above him were other employees of another subcontractor. These employees dropped some of their work materials that struck Plaintiff in the head knocking him unconsciousness. Plaintiff sustained a right shoulder injury that required surgery and was released with permanent restrictions that his employer could not accommodate. Joseph J.
